Detailed Auto Diagnostics supports professional repair facilities with on-site dealer-level programming, remote programming, and Advanced-Level Testing. Each service follows a clear process with preparation requirements based on how the service is performed.
The On-Site Programming Process
Five clear steps—from the initial request through on-site post-programming verification.
Request & Vehicle Information
Provide the year, make, model, VIN, module being replaced or updated, reason for service, and known repair history. This allows us to confirm the required software, equipment, and subscription before the appointment.
Vehicle & Shop Preparation
The vehicle must be accessible, the correct module installed when required, all keys available, and a suitable work area provided. Before the appointment, verify that the vehicle communicates with a scan tool and document its operating condition. Report any communication issues so programming readiness can be confirmed.
Arrival & Pre-Programming Check
Detailed Auto Diagnostics supplies the programming equipment, internet connection, and programming-capable battery maintainer. Vehicle identification, system voltage, communication, and relevant fault information are checked before programming.
Programming, Coding & Setup
Using OEM software and authorized communication equipment, the required software installation, coding, configuration, security procedure, or relearn is performed on site.
Post-Programming Verification
Communication and fault information are checked again, and applicable setup or relearn procedures are completed. Final repair verification and road testing remain the repairing shop’s responsibility unless separately arranged.

The Remote Programming Process
Five steps designed for programming when Detailed Auto Diagnostics is not physically at the vehicle.
Request & Compatibility Review
Provide the vehicle, VIN, module, requested service, and repair history. We confirm software, subscription, laptop, and communication-device compatibility before scheduling.
Shop Equipment Preparation
The shop provides a compatible Windows laptop, approved J2534 or OEM communication device, reliable high-speed internet, and a programming-capable battery maintainer. The module and all keys must be ready.
Remote Connection & Pre-Check
The remote connection, laptop, interface, system voltage, vehicle communication, and relevant fault information are verified before programming begins.
Remote Programming & Setup
Detailed Auto Diagnostics performs the required OEM programming, coding, configuration, security procedure, or relearn while the shop keeps power, internet, laptop, and interface connections uninterrupted.
Verification & Handoff
Communication and fault information are checked again, and applicable setup procedures are completed. Results and next steps are reviewed with the shop before the remote session ends.
Before Your Remote Programming Appointment
Programming Requires a Stable Vehicle and Work Environment
Please Note: Low voltage, wiring faults, communication issues, an incompatible module, interrupted power, a disconnected communication device, or an unstable internet connection can prevent programming from continuing. A battery charger or jump pack is NOT a substitute for a proper battery maintainer. Charges will apply for the provider’s time if these faults occur.
Additional testing time may be required when existing faults prevent programming.
The Advanced-Level Testing Process
A structured process used to isolate faults, verify failures, and provide a clear direction for the repair.
Define the Concern
The shop provides the symptoms, fault codes, repair history, previous work, and the conditions under which the problem occurs.
Establish a Baseline
A vehicle scan and preliminary checks evaluate system voltage, module communication, network condition and relevant data.
Perform Focused Testing
Testing uses relevant service information and may include circuit integrity, powers and grounds, network communication, sensor or actuator operation, waveform analysis, current measurement, and software or configuration verification.
Report the Findings
The shop receives the test results, likely cause or direction, and recommended next steps so the repair can proceed efficiently.
Prepare for Advanced-Level Testing
Testing charges are based on the process and time required—not only on the final repair recommendation. Intermittent faults may require repeat testing or specific operating conditions. Verification after repair is a separate step and should be requested when needed.
